Do You Research Language Brokering?

There are now decades worth of research on the topic of language brokering. In this section of the website, we have compiled some of the important scholarly articles and books about brokering. For some research articles, we have written “article guides” to explain more about that particular study and its findings. If you are interested in additional information or think we are missing a key book in our list (which will forever be in development), please do not hesitate to contact us!

We have two main pages so far:

  • Academic Resources, which has a list of foundational books about language brokering, along with important websites by key scholars in the field.
  • Article Guides, which describe findings of a few key research studies in everyday language, with more to be added when we can.

We also plan to develop a series of policy briefs, which will summarize key findings for educators and policymakers, especially those who may be unfamiliar with language brokering and how it shapes the daily lives of so many families and communities.
