Do You Translate for Your Family?

Helping your family by interpreting isn’t just about words—you’re using a powerful toolkit every day. Connecting people, solving problems, and navigating different languages and cultures takes real skill. It can be challenging, but it also shows your strengths: you’re 🛠️resourceful,🔄 adaptable, ❤️caring, and your 🌍 language abilities are powerful tools.

In fact, some researchers have called this practice “language brokering”, where language brokers (you) interpret cultural nuances to convey accurate meaning in language, help broker different cultures, and navigate power dynamics among themselves and others.
